Your Gateway to Phoenix

Welcome to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport!

Located in the City of Mesa, Gateway Airport serves the Greater Phoenix metropolitan area, one of the fastest growing communities in the nation. Over the years, Gateway has evolved from one of the Air Force’s premier flight schools to a successful commercial airport that contributes $1.8 billion annually to Arizona’s economy, making it an internationally recognized economic powerhouse. Along with the more than 70 innovative businesses based on its 3,000-acre campus, Gateway supports over 10,000 jobs, including those at aerospace companies like Cessna, Embraer, and Able Aerospace Services.

Where Your Business Will Thrive

Why should you and your business choose Gateway?

First, location. Two freeways are within a half-mile of the airport’s border: the Loop 202 and State Route 24. Second, Gateway has a robust infrastructure, including three parallel runways, each approximately 10,000' in length, and multiple navigational aids such as VORTAC, ILS, and ASR.

As a foreign trade zone, Gateway also provides access to international markets, and it has a skilled labor force able to support any business. In fact, five post-secondary institutions—Arizona State University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Chandler-Gilbert Community College, East Valley Institute of Technology, and the University of North Dakota—all have campuses at Gateway. Finally, Gateway is a vibrant commercial airport served by Allegiant and Sun Country with non-stop service to more than 45 destinations. In 2023, more than 1.8 million travelers passed through Gateway’s 11 passenger gates. Numerous retail and concessions help to make Gateway one of the most pleasant flying experiences anywhere.

Overall, Gateway pumped more than 17.3 million gallons of fuel in 2023 and earned the title of second busiest contract air traffic control tower in the United States in 2022. With just over 262,000 annual operations completed in 2023, Gateway is operationally busier than Portland International Airport. Gateway is overseen by the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority. PMGAA consists of six members: City of Mesa, City of Phoenix, Town of Gilbert, Town of Queen Creek, Gila River Indian Community, and City of Apache Junction.
