Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is the busiest contract air traffic control tower in the United States and one of the most successful commercial airports in the region, but Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority has
plans to make it even better.
Building on the masterplan finalized in 2020, PMGAA hopes to maximize the potential of the east side of the airport, GatewayEast, which spans approximately 700 acres. Because the Loop 202, State Route 24,
and main thoroughfares of Ray, Ellsworth, and Pecos roads are nearby, the east side is capable of supporting a number of operations.
GatewayEast preliminary planning includes development of a new commercial passenger service terminal, industrial parcels, retail spaces, and aeronautical facilities. An RFP for a Master Developer for GatewayEast is
currently in process, following a successful Request for Qualifications. Visit the PMGAA Procurements and Notices web page to view
the RFQ GatewayEast Master Developer Notice of Shortlisted Firms and other RFQ and RFP information.
